Difference Between Vape and Dab Pen

Most people are aware of vaping but not dabbing; it is one of the safest means of consuming CBD and is closely similar to vaping. Despite the limited popularity compared to vaping, it is one of the most ideal methods of taking CBD. As it becomes more popular, you are likely to come across many dabbing products, hence the need to understand how they work.

One of the most popular dabbing products is the dab pen. With appearance, design, and structure nearly resembling the vape pen, it is challenging for many vapers to differentiate the two. You may end up mistaking a dab pen for a vape pen.  The price of a dab pen varies depending on the type; you could spend more from $20 to over $100. The cost of a dab pen largely depends on the materials and how much control it gives the user. However, it’s essential to invest in a high-quality vaping device to ensure the best experience. Some cheaper vaping devices could be unsafe. One of the main reasons why people use vaping devices is because they’re safer than smoking. However, vape pens can still have adverse health effects, especially if you vape pure CBD oil. You should ensure you have high-quality concentrates for maximum safety.

Dab pens

Dabbing is heating cannabis concentrate to reach the vaporization point without burning it. It is ideal for vaporizing hemp and cannabis extracts. The invention of dab pens can be traced from dab rigs traditionally used for dabbing CBD. However, rig usage declined due to issues such as design and size, making them complicated to carry around.

The rig’s shortcomings led to the development of dab pens which were smaller in size and comparable to a pen. The dab pen has various components, such as the mouthpiece, heating apparatus, and battery. Unlike the rig, it is smaller, thinner, lighter, and portable.

Vape pens

They are similar to dab pens in various ways, such as size, design, and portability. Vape pens have different components, such as a battery, a heating system called the atomizer, a tank, and a mouthpiece. When you turn it on, the battery provides the needed heat for the atomizer or vaporizer to vaporize the oil or juice.

Key differences

The vape and dab pens have various similarities, such as structure, elements, and usage. Dabbing is considered a form of vaping; however, that does not mean you can use vape pens for dabbing CBD. However, you can use the dab pens to vape the juices and oils, which is ideal for the vape pens.

Usage

The first difference is the usage. Dab pens are ideal for producing vapor from CBD concentrates and oils, while vape pens produce CBD vapor from CBD vape juices. Based on the difference and the contents used, the dab pens burn at high temperatures to successfully generate vapor from concentrates.

Vape pens may not burn at high temperatures because the juices tend to be lighter; however, there are those modified for vaping oils; hence they have high-temperature heating capabilities. They are both disposable, hence no refills.

Product used

The second difference is the products used. Vape pens can only be used to burn vape juices, while dab pens are used for CBD concentrates and other heavy products such as CBD wax, isolates, crumble and shatter, meaning it is versatile for burning different CBD products. This makes them more reliable and versatile than vape pens because you can vape different products without limitations, such as the pen’s heating capacity.

Dab pens can be suitable for vaping dry herbs without any modifications to the pen; however, you need a special type of vape pen, such as a dry herb vaporizer of vape herbs.

The choice between a dab pen and a vape pen will depend on the product you are vaping, your desired effects, or your vaping experience. The dab pens are strictly for use when vaping dabs; however, some special vape pens promise the ability to vape certain concentrates.

How they work?

When selecting between the two, watch out for their key capabilities and performance. Once you turn it on, the vape pen will suck the juice or oil into the heating chamber and vaporize the CBD. When using dabs, the concentrate goes through combustion without burning. The coil melts the concentrates, which then absorb the melted concentrates, which are then heated to form the vapor. Therefore, you need to add the concentrate directly on the heating element, unlike in vape pens, where the liquid is loaded into a tank and directly heated to generate vapor.

Vape pens have temperature limits between 315 0F to 365 0F, limiting the products they can vape; hence only suitable for light CBD products such as flowers, oils, and vape juices. Dab pens have temperature capabilities between 1350F and 9000F; hence suitable for all CBD products.

The ideal user

Vape pens are ideal for beginners since they have features and integrated technologies, making them ideal for beginners and experienced vapers. However, dab pens are ideal for pros in vaping; by the time you vape concentrates and other isolates, you must have enough experience using CBD and other high-heat vape products.

One of the trending questions about dab pens is whether they can get you high. Yes, it can, especially when the CBD concentrate has a high THC concentration. The same applies to vape pens; hence, you must be careful about product selection.

Due to temperature control capabilities, the vaping experience when using dab pen is smoother than in vape pens. The throat hit is cooler and less harsh than those in vape pens.

Conclusion

Vape and dab pens are ideal for vaping different CBD products; however, they vary since the vape pens are ideal for oil and juices, while dab pens are ideal for extracts and concentrate. Before using them, you should select them based on experience since the vape pens are ideal for amateurs and experienced vapers, while the dabs are only suitable for pros. Otherwise, they are discrete, portable, and ideal for use in different environments.
