THE IDEAL SKIN CARE ROUTINE FOR OILY SKIN

SKIN CARE

Having oily skin stands as one of the most common skin concerns. It comes with unique challenges like acne breakouts and a bright complexion. Since we’re created that way, we don’t have a chance to pick our skin type, but we can combat these issues with the right skin care routine.

To assist you on how to cater to your oily skin type, we were able to have a little chat with some skin care experts. We questioned them on the best way to take care of oily skin and crafting a daily skin care routine that’s ideal for an oily skin. However, their answer was a simple four-step routine that can be followed in the morning and evening to keep the skin healthy, free from acne, and shiny.

THE PERFECT SKIN CARE ROUTINE FOR OILY SKIN

Note that, for an effective skin care routine, you’ll need to; cleanse morning and night with an exfoliating cleanser. Apply a toner that has lactic acid, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid. Apply a lightweight moisturizer morning and night; carefully treat your skin with benzoyl peroxide. Let’s have a good look at these steps in context.

Cleanse daily

The first and most essential step of any skin care routine is cleaning the skin daily for oily skin; you’re more likely to carry out more cleansing. Though most people tend to neglect washing their faces in the morning and night, it’s essential for those with oily skin to roughly cleanse their face in the morning.

Even when the skin may look and feel fresh and clean, it still requires cleansing as it sheds skin cells and produces oils at night. It’s recommended you wash with a good exfoliating cleanser in the morning and evening or even wash gently with salicylic acid.

Apply a toner

After cleansing to get rid of dirt, makeup, and oil, it’s recommended you follow up with an exfoliating toner containing either lactic acid, salicylic acid, or glycolic acid.

Carefully treat the skin

Treating the skin actually depends on the specific concerns it requires. Generally, if your skin is prone to acne, you can use benzoyl peroxide during the day to help address the oil production rate and prevent possible breakouts. However, this product is only perfect in the daytime, as the evening can be good with a retinol product to clear the pores. However, having oily skin also has pros, as you’re more likely to have a delay in the occurrence of wrinkles and fine lines than those with dry skin.

Apply a lightweight moisturizer

For those with oily skin, moisturizing is an important step. Most people do feel that with an oily skin, you don’t really need to moisturize. Well, all skin type requires moisturizing. But, with an oily skin, you need to be really careful with the type of moisturizer you apply. An ideal moisturizer for oily skin should be free from oils, as well as being lightweight and water-based.
